Jaipur, 27 August 2026: The 9th Aryan International Children’s Film Festival of Jaipur (AICFF 2026) and 11th Sixteen International Film Festival (16IFF 2026), organised by the Jaipur International Film Festival Trust, featured screenings of 29 selected films on Thursday at Ryan International School, VT Road, Mansarovar, and Dolphins High School, Pratap Nagar, Jaipur.

The films presented stories from different cultures, societies and human experiences. Indian films included ‘Tum Aur Main’, ‘Hum Nayi Subah Ki Kirne Hain, Yeh Naya Zamana Hamara Hai – DJIME’, ‘Aakhir Aisa Kyon Hota Hai?’, ‘Warranty’ and ‘Sudha Wife’. These films explored Indian society, human relationships, social circumstances and contemporary issues from different perspectives.

Filmmakers Honoured

During the programme, Festival Director Hanu Roj honoured Prankur Chaturvedi and Anjan Singh, directors of Tum Aur Main; the team of Hum Nayi Subah Ki Kirne Hain; Sandeep Raj K., director of Warranty; Mohinder Pal Vidrohi, director of Aakhir Aisa Kyon Hota Hai?; and Simantini Ramesh Veluskar.

Among the international films, South Korea’s ‘Butterfly Eyes’ and Iran’s ‘The Translator’ attracted the attention of students. The Palestine–US co-production ‘My Foot Is in Heaven’, Austria’s ‘A Mother’s Love’, Norway’s ‘Dinosaurs in Heaven’, and the USA’s ‘The Curious Incident of Everett Wilder’ explored themes of family, emotions, imagination and human experiences.

Pakistan’s ‘Karim’, Australia’s ‘Australia – The Beautiful’, Greece’s ‘The Patch’, the USA’s ‘Little Fears Luang’, Russia’s ‘The Chief’, and France’s ‘Ya Hanouni’, among others, introduced students to the diversity of international cinema and storytelling styles from different countries. Social concerns, nature, courage, family, culture, human emotions and imagination emerged as key themes across the films.

A special attraction for the students was the Rajasthani film ‘Water’, made using AI technology under Ekta Kapoor’s banner. An eighth-grade student said after watching the film that it was exciting to see an AI-generated film for the first time, especially one made in the Rajasthani language. The film also introduced students to the possibilities of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in filmmaking. The film focuses on the issue of water scarcity.

Prankur Chaturvedi: “It was a wonderful experience watching the film while sitting among the children”

Prankur Chaturvedi and Anjan Singh, directors of Tum Aur Main, said, “It was truly a wonderful experience to watch the film today while sitting among the children and sharing the experience with them. I would love to come back to JIFF in January.”

The initiative by the Jaipur International Film Festival Trust aims to introduce students to world cinema while creating awareness about filmmaking, creative expression and new technologies. It is an important step towards encouraging young audiences to understand and appreciate cinema from different cultures and perspectives.

The festival programme will be organised on a larger scale next August.
